What is Moon Magic?

I’ve been thinking long and hard about what to put on this page. Sometimes thinking long and hard is like trying to add that new device to yet another frickin app but you just get the spinning wheel that goes around and around forever until you decide to give up. How modern. It’s time for me to let the apps be what they must, put the 2024 version of pen to paper, and just speak from the soul.

I want to do my best make sure the people around me are really connected. I don’t want us to talk about the weather. I want to know what makes you happy, sad, angry, and excited. I want to hear the stories of tragedy and loss and triumph and gain. I don’t to talk about the weather. I feel like I need to reach a million people to make an impact, like my delivery must be perfect. But I’m learning that the focus should really be on those who already here. and the delivery is in the simplicity of BEing here and asking the questions. How are we showing up when we’re together? What do we talk about, and more importantly what don’t we talk about? We can start by not talking about the weather.

& for me this is Moon Magic. BEing real with each other every time we show up. Life is too short to keep pretending. Life is too short to make ourselves and those around us comfortable all the time. It is SO important to learn how to be ok with being uncomfortable. It’s from here that we start to feel peace. Just as the moon changes ever so quickly, so do we. Just as the moon shines a light on the things we aren’t ready to face, we grab ahold of our own strength and do it anyways. Just as the moon darkens and forces us to go within, we move our bodies, check in with our breath, and BElieve what nature is telling us.

It feels like there’s no room left to be authentic. I often get stuck in this narrative, the one that tells me my ideas are old news, somebody’s already done it, it’s not important enough to put out into the world. This keeps me in my box and I don’t like it there. A wise woman once told me that every person holds a key for someone else. This stuck with me. Let these words be my key.
